ABOUT THE DOGS
Q: Does my dog need to be fully vaccinated?
A: Yes, your dog needs to be fully vaccinated if coming out with other dogs or into the Wet Nose Walks vehicle. We highly recommend getting your dog vaccinated against Kennel Cough as well which is an addition to the regular vaccinations. Kennel Cough is very much mislabeled and spreads just like human cold virus. It can be caught from another dog, communal water dishes etc and as your dog will be out with other dogs regularly it is recommended you protect them against this.
Q: Do you walk my dog breed?
A: Yes, we do not discriminate by breed. A dog must have a good temperament and walk reasonably well on a lead. We can work around some issues but any serious behavioural issues we recommend a good positive reinforcement behaviourist.
Q: Does my dog need to wear a collar and tag?
A: Yes, it is the law that your dog must have a collar and tag that details your name and address on it. Failure to comply with this can carry fines of up to £5000. From the 6th April 2016 it will also be the law that dogs must be microchipped. Whilst out with us, if your dog is off lead, your dog will also have a business tag clipped on detailing our contact details and this tag will be removed once your dog is returned home.
Q: Can you walk my dog reactive dog?
A: Our solo walks are perfect for dogs that don't get on with other dogs. We will also walk dogs in muzzles if you feel this may be suitable for your dog and they are conditioned to wear one.
Q: Are you able to administer my dog’s medication?
A: Yes, that's no problem, and we can discuss those details in the initial assessment.
Q: Does my dog need to be neutered/spayed?
A: No, however, we do not walk bitches whilst they are season and whilst we take all precautions possible, we do not take responsibility for any puppies that may arise.
Q: Can you walk my senior dog?
A: Of course! Our walks are paced to your dog and we offer walks as short as 20 minutes. If you feel that even a 20 minute walk is too long for your senior dog we can do a short walk or pee break, play, fuss and keep them company at home for the rest of the time.
Q: Can you walk my puppy?
A: Yes if your puppy has had their full vaccinations. We offer a puppy home call service that you can still use if your puppy hasn't finished their course of vaccinations yet. As soon as your puppy has had all of their vaccinations they can also start having short walks. Please bear in mind that very young puppies should not have long periods of exercise and a rule of thumb until they are fully grown is 5 minutes for every month old they are (up to twice a day). Our puppy visits offer shorter walks mixed with play, feeding, and basic training.
