HELLO THERE!
Wet Nose Walks is a friendly, reliable and professional dog walking and pet sitting business based in Leek, Staffordshire Moorlands. We understand that all dogs are as unique as their owners, and we provide a flexible, tailored service with that in mind. Whether it is a daily, weekly, occasional or last minute emergency service you are looking for, we will do our best to meet your needs so please feel free to get in touch.
WE ARE QUALIFIED!
I am currently working towards the Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour Management and attend seminars/workshops to keep my practice updated. I am part of the Moorlands Dog Rescue team and am involved in both the fundraising side and the process of rescue, rehab and rehome of the dogs. I mentor under a local certified behaviourist attending one to one dog assessments and assisting with dog training classes. I am a member of the Pet Professional Guild which means I have committed to using only positive reinforcement, science based training and non-aversive methods with the animals I work with. I have lots of experience working with my own dogs, client dogs and rescue dogs with a whole range of issues. If your dog is reactive, fearful or anxious/worried I can adapt walks to the dog.
WE ARE INSURED!
Wet Nose Walks are covered by public liability insurance and our vehicle is covered by business insurance. Your dogs will usually be walked by the same person everyday, but sometimes my partner who is also covered by my liability insurance and insured to drive the vehicle may also attend walks with me. This helps as in the case of an emergency where I am unable to attend, we will still be able to cover as many calls as possible.
WE ARE FLEXIBLE!
When your pet is collected, they will be either walked from the house or driven to where the walk will take place. Your dog will only be let off lead at your express request and when I feel comfortable that your dog will recall. Initially your dog will be on lead, including a long line so your dog still has plenty of space to roam and exercise. I will interact with your dog using positive reinforcement methods (see FAQ) using tasty, healthy treats. Depending on your dogs needs and likes, walks involve a mixture of walking, playing, off lead exercise, treat searches, chase, playing with toys, sitting/standing, sniffing and training games. Quite often it also includes rolling and getting muddy so please bear this in mind! Once returned, I clean and dry your dog up the best I can and if you wish can message you to let you know how the walk went and to let you know your pet is home safe and happy. Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for photos over the following days!

WE LOVE PETS!
I have owned pets all my life and currently have a beautiful Border Collie (Poppy), a stunning working English Springer Spaniel (Ollie) and a terrier mix (Winnie) but the top dog is Millie the cat! Millie came to us from someone having to rehome her cats and Poppy, Ollie and Winnie are all from rescues.

POPPY
History: Dumped in kennels and swapped for another dog

OLLIE
History: Kept in a kitchen for most of the first 15months of his life
Likes: Training and all food
Dislikes: Sharing

WINNIE
MILLIE

For a service that will treat your pet as our own, with all the love and care we would expect someone to give our own pets, please get in touch.
