ABOUT THE BUSINESS
Q: Which areas do you cover?
A: We cover the Leek area and anywhere within a 5 mile radius. Subject to availability we do travel further, but charge 45p per mile for anywhere after this.
Q: Do you have business insurance on your vehicle?
A: Yes, our vehicle is covered for business use.
Q: Are you fully insured?
A: Yes we have business insurance on the car, and have public liability insurance which covers the transport of animals, accident and death, loss of animals and house keys as well as any damages occurred to the public via the business.
Q: Are you police checked?
A: Yes we have an CRB check.
Q: Are you familiar with the law affecting dogs?
A: Yes, I am aware of the Dangerous Dogs Act as well as the law regarding control of animals in public.
Q: Are you insured to hold keys, and what happens if my keys are lost or stolen?
A: Yes, our insurance covers key holding and if your keys are lost or stolen, our insurance will pay to have locks changed etc.
Q: How do you label/store the keys and store personal information?
A: Your keys will be labelled with a key fob with your dogs name only. No address will be displayed on the key and keys are kept on the walker when your dogs are out. Keys are kept in a locked key safe when not in use.
Q: Will you look after my dog at your house?
A: No, unfortunately we do not currently have a boarding license so are unable to look after your dog or cat at our home. We can however look after any small pets as a license is only required for cats and dogs. Kerry's Canines are local and offer home boarding if you are looking for this service. They are fully insured and licensed.
Q: Do you do dog training?
A: No, I am still training myself and currently am unable to offer dog training. I can highly recommend Rachel Trafford (www.lovewalkies.com) and Tracie Allott (www.facebook.com/KindHands4Paws) both are local, positive reinforcement, force free trainers which have a great deal of experience and do one to ones with clients. Rachel is also a certified behaviourist with the IAABC and runs classes for both puppies and adults which I assist with. I can when possible work on basic training when with your dog or puppy like recall, manners and basic tricks etc.
